Vista Outdoor Sales LLC is a subsidiary of Speer that processes sales orders for Speer.
Upon receipt of an order, you will receive an order acknowledgement with an estimated sales tax.  Upon acceptance of the order, the estimated tax will be adjusted to the actual tax and the charge will be revised accordingly.
We do accept gift cards, but for security measures, some gift card sellers require the recipient to activate the card before it can be used. Though stores often activate gift cards at the cash register, online gift card sellers generally require the recipient to activate the card once it is received in the mail or via email. If your gift card does not work online, check to see if it needs to be registered before use. Registration usually involves linking a name and billing address to the prepaid card. Though you generally are not required to register a gift card in order to use it in stores or restaurants, the process is important if you intend to use the gift card online.

Orders may be cancelled within 24 hours after they were placed. We will do our best to accommodate your request after 24 hours, but please note once your order has begun to process in our Distribution Centers we are unable to cancel. Once orders are cancelled, payment pre-authorization related to the order will be cancelled as well.

Orders cannot be cancelled after they have been shipped. If you need to cancel an order after it shipped, please refer to our Returns policy.

Shipping charges are applied per order, as displayed during checkout. If you place multiple orders at a time you will incur shipping charges for each order placed and agree to pay shipping charges per our terms on conditions upon checkout. We reserve the right to consolidate multiple orders into one shipment that ships either via UPS or if applicable are palletized and shipped via LTL (freight truck). If orders are consolidated, no shipping charges will be refunded.
You experienced inertial bullet pull. The firearm is so light that the recoil is pulling the bullet out of the case. This is strictly an issue with the weight of the firearm—not the ammunition—and some firearm manufacturers have a warning in the owner’s manual that addresses this issue.
Because it is designed for use with short barrels, shooting Short Barrel Personal Protection ammunition in a full-size firearm will result in a higher velocity than advertised for the load and can over-expand the bullet on impact. However, it will not damage your firearm.
Yes, our +P ammunition meets SAAMI specification.
Do not shoot shotshells in your suppressed firearm. The shot capsule breaks up on the rifling and you will fill the suppressor with plastic and lead shot, possibly damaging it.
When ammunition is repeatedly chambered in semi-automatic firearms—in other words, a single round is loaded and unloaded every day—it can weaken the case mouth enough to cause neck tension failure of the cartridge. Replace the top round on a regular basis to prevent this.
We recommend storing ammunition in cool and dry conditions in original packaging. For a full recommendation on storage, refer to SAAMI storage guidelines.
An even better choice than standard Lawman is Lawman Clean-Fire®, which has a patented Clean-Fire primer that eliminates airborne lead, barium and antimony. Also, the TMJ bullet’s full enclosure of the lead core prevents hot gases from vaporizing lead off of the bullet base.
Look at Gold Dot® ammo. We have a 200-grain 44 Special load whose bullet was designed expressly for 44 Special velocities. It expands at velocities as low as 780 fps in our tests. That's less than most 3-inch barrels generate with this load.
That bullet dates to about 1970, when it was state-of-the-art. It was great in some guns and troublesome in others. We replaced it with a 21st century Gold Dot hollow point +P load. The new load gives more reliable expansion, more velocity, improved feeding, and better bullet integrity.
Gold Dot is loaded with premium, service-proven jacketed hollow point bullets in a nickel-plated brass case, while Lawman® is loaded with less-expensive TMJ and FMJ bullets in a standard brass case. Other than that, the attention to detail that is our hallmark is the same for both.
No. Both headspace on the case mouth. The shorter 40 S&W will not be supported in the 10mm chamber, so headspace control is lost. You'll get misfires, blown primers, deformed cases and potentially gas jetting from the action. Always use the correct ammunition for your firearm. Don't cut corners!

Age Verification

Age verification has always been on the site as part of the checkout process. An upgraded software has been added to ensure those who purchase ammunition from the site are of legal age. There continues to be increased legislative pressure on the hunting and shooting industry, including how we can market to our key audiences.
AgeChecker.Net is an age verification software used by online stores that sell age-restricted products such as electronic cigarettes, tobacco, alcohol, etc. It’s a safe and trusted service to fulfill federal and state age verification laws. This simple process is quick and easy.
Age Checker verifies about 90% of U.S. customers instantly using just name, shipping address, and date of birth. If you cannot be verified automatically using basic order information, you will be prompted to submit an image of your photo ID. This process is easy and occurs within a popup window; you will not be redirected from the checkout page. Once you have submitted a photo ID, it usually takes 10 to 30 seconds to verify.
For most customers, only name, date of birth, and shipping address is required. If age cannot be verified automatically, you will be prompted to submit an image of your government-issued photo ID. Since this software is often able to retrieve your name and address automatically from your payment or shipping credentials, you will only have to input your date of birth manually.
If you've uploaded an ID once and use the same name, shipping address, and date of birth for your next order, you won't be asked to submit an ID again. If one of those three things changes or is entered inaccurately, the system won't recognize you, triggering the ID prompt. You will have up to three attempts to get age verified.
Government-issued ID such as a driver's license, state identification card, military ID, or passport are acceptable if needed. Your name, date of birth, and the expiration date must be visible, and name on the ID must match the name on the rest of your order information. The date of birth you enter into our popup must also match the ID, even if both are above the minimum age. Accurate records will allow you to pass the ID prompt next time. Certain IDs, such as military IDs, require images of the front and back to show us the necessary information. If you are having trouble uploading two images in one submission through our popup, please email them as attachments to help@agechecker.net and your order will be manually verified. Since ID submissions are deleted automatically, two separate submissions cannot be verified.
To make it as easy as possible, there are three options for sending a photo ID:
  • Take a picture using your webcam directly from our popup.

  • Upload an image saved on any device.

  • Enter your mobile phone number and you’ll receive a text link to complete the process on your phone.

The system offers users three chances to verify their age. If the third attempt is unsuccessful, the order will not get placed and the user will be directed back to the cart to restart the checkout process.
The information you provide is used solely to verify your age and is never shared with third parties beyond our partner Age Checker for the sole purpose of verifying age. Your privacy and security are important to us. Access to all services is protected with strong 256-bit AES encryption. All personal information is stored on a private internal network that is not connected to the internet. We will securely store your date of birth, name, and address so that we can verify you without photo ID if you order again. Photo IDs are not automatically stored; they are deleted as soon as you are verified.
If you are experiencing any issues during the age verification process, please email help@agechecker.net. They are available around the clock. To resolve issues unrelated to age verification (e.g. order status, product inquiries, shipping times, etc.), please contact Customer Service directly.
